Visa Information
A visa may be acquired online or in person at aPortuguese embassy or consulate.

Letters of invitation
An invitation letter is required to apply for a visa. Upon request, invitation letters will be provided to the authors and presenters of accepted papers, posters, keynotes, tutorials, and panels, and to CED/NOF-IADR Oral Health Research Congress 2026 attendees who have completed their registration and payment process.
After the registration and payment are completed, aninvitation letter may be requested. With this letter, participants will be able to obtain a visa for the period of the CED/NOF-IADR Oral Health Research Congress 2026.

Access the Venue - The CCB is located in the Belém district of Lisbon, approximately 7 km from the city center. It is well connected by public transport, making it easily accessible for visitors
- Bus: Several bus and tram lines serve the area, including tram 15E, which runs from Praça da Figueira in central Lisbon to Belém. Buses 728, 729, 714, and 751 also stop nearby. The Belém train station, on the Cascais Line, is a short walk from the CCB, providing a convenient rail connection.
- Car: For those arriving by car, the CCB offers an underground parking facility. Alternatively, taxis and ride-hailing services like Uber and Bolt are widely available.
- Other Options: Cycling is also an option, as Belém has bike-friendly paths along the river.
Climate - The average maximum and minimum temperature in Lisbon are 21°C / 70°F (high) and 13°C / 55°F (low). Please take into consideration that Lisbon is located on a river, and it can the refore be some what windy in the city in the late afternoon or evening.
Currency - The official currency of Portugal is the euro (€).
Electric Current - The Portuguese standard is the European 2-pin socket with 220 volts AC at 50 cycles.
Health Requirements - With the exception of vaccination certificates for persons coming from areas where yellow fever is endemic, at present there are no special health requirements.
Hotel Check in/out Policy - Normal check in time at hotels is 15:00. The established check out time is 12:00. Should you need guaranteed occupancy before 13:00 on the day of your arrival, the previous night should be reserved.
Please note that it may differ among hotels. Check your booking information in advance.
Local Time - Mainland Portugal is 1 hour behind Central European Time (CET - 1).
Language - The official language in Portugal is Portuguese. English, Spanish, and French are also widely spoken.
Medical Care - Clinics and hospitals provide 24-hour emergency service.
The national emergency phone number is 112. Hotel shave a doctor on call through the reception.
Smoking - The Portuguese law, in accordance with regulations inforce in the majority of European Union member states, does not allow smokingin public transportation or in any closed public areas. However, some restaurants, bars, and clubs may have designated smoking areas.
TAX Free - Sales tax (VAT) is included in prices quoted. For persons who are not residents of the European Union, tax-free shopping schemes are available in many shops, giving substantial savings to visitors.

Accreditation - Arrive early to the Congress venue to do your accreditation. Be practical and use your mobile phone with the QR code that was sent to you by email.
Congress Badge - All participants must collect a name badge from the registration desk at the Congress venue's main entrance. To ensure security, wearing the badge is mandatory throughout the Congress, including at social programme events.
WiFi - WiFi service will be available during the Congress Access the network indicated.
