Elena Figuero is Professor in Periodontology in the Faculty of Dentistry, University Complutense Madrid, where she also works as Associate Dean for Quality Assurance and International Affairs and the Director of three post-graduate programs [(1) Clinical Periodontology, (2) Research Methodology in the Dentistry and (3) Research Methodology in Periodontology, Implant Dentistry and Oral Tissue Regeneration)].

She is an Associate Editor of Journal of Clinical Periodontology and Clinical Oral Implants Research. She serves as the Chair of the Workshop Committee in the EFP, Trustee of SEPA Foundation, member of the Expert Council of the Osteology Foundation and advisor of the EAO.
