Prof. Dr. med. dent. Fabian Cieplik studied dentistry at the University of Regensburg from 2008 to 2013 and received his doctorate in 2014 with summa cum laude. In 2024, he was appointed Full Professor and Head of the Department of Operative Dentistry and Periodontology at the Medical Center of the University of Freiburg. His research focuses on clinical research in operative dentistry and periodontology, as well as oral microbiology, with particular emphasis on oral ecology and antimicrobial resistance. He has received several national and international awards, and his research has been continuously supported by the German Research Foundation and industry.
