Gus Nascimento is a Professor and oral epidemiologist whose research spans periodontology, causal inference, and oral–systemic health across diverse study designs, from birth cohorts to large-scale registry and electronic health record analyses. A dentist with a PhD in Oral Epidemiology, he has authored more than 215 peer-reviewed publications and secured competitive funding across Brazil, Denmark, and Singapore. He is a recipient of the IADR Distinguished Scientist Award – Young Investigator Award (2024) and serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Periodontal Research and Frontiers in Oral Health, Academic Editor for BMC Medical Research Methodology, and Guest Editor for the Journal of Dental Research.
