Dr. Irma Dumbrytė is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Dentistry, Vilnius University, and a practicing orthodontist. She has over 10 years of experience in enamel structure and microcrack research. In 2020, she obtained her PhD thesis on enamel microcracks before and after bracket removal. Her research focuses on non-destructive imaging techniques, including X-ray micro-computed tomography, scanning electron microscopy, and multi-spectral data analysis in biomedical applications, with a particular emphasis on comprehensive characterization of tooth microcracks. Dr. Dumbrytė currently leads the Lithuanian Research Council project on multi-spectral volumetric teeth microcracks investigation.
