Professor Bekes is Head of the Department of Paediatric Dentistry at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. She obtained her dental degree from the University of Halle, Germany.

She serves as President of the German Society of Paediatric Dentistry (since 2019) and as President of the Austrian Society of Paediatric Dentistry (since 2025). In addition, she represents Austria as an observing councillor at the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry.

Professor Bekes is the founder of Austria’s only competence center dedicated to the management of patients MIH. She has an extensive record of academic contributions, including the publication of five books.
